Newark Hall is one of many catered halls in the University of Nottingham. Located in the modernised-concept Jubilee Campus, Newark Hall offers en-suite bedrooms for students, meaning you get to have your own private bathroom.
Location
Newark Hall is located in Jubilee Campus, which is a 5-minute bus ride to the city centre. This accommodation is suitable for you who will be studying Business, Computer Science or other courses that have classes in Jubilee Campus. If your course Is held mainly in University Park, don’t worry. Hopper bus, which runs every 15 minutes, is available for you. Or you can walk or cycle if you prefer to do so.
Bedroom Conditions
Compared to other catered halls, Newark Hall is considered to be small and narrow. Having a single bed may be enough for you, yet not the others, depending on your personal preference. The room is well furnished with a wardrobe, desk, chair, bookshelves, noticeboard, fridge, desk lamp, personal door lock, coat hooks, mirror and power sockets.
Facilities
Newark Hall offers a wide range of facilities, with the purpose to make your stay as enjoyable as it can be. It has bar, bike stands, communal study area, games room, JCR, laundry facilities, pantries and TV room. However, some washing machines and dryers tend to breakdown, resulting in students to take turns doing their laundry. Pantries are not as cleaned so if you are a clean-freak, you better get your own utensils and kettle to boil your water.
Overall
Like any other catered halls, fees include all bills – heating, electricity and water bills, Junior Common Room (JCR) committee membership, personal contents insurance, and 19 meals per week during term time. Rooms also have Wi-Fi. Thus, you don’t have to worry about paying extra bills.

Yet, the contract lasts for 31 weeks a year, which means you have to move out during vacation periods, i.e. Christmas and Easter vacations. If you wish to store your things in your room or stay in your room, there will be extra cost.
