Broadgate Park (Redwoods Block), Beeston by Sarah Teja
Location

Very close to University Park campus (10-20 minutes on foot, depending on the building you’re going to go to).  Thus, it is convenient to go back and forth, during those long breaks that you may have between lectures.  Most importantly, you won’t have to rely on the bus to travel to campus, as it gets busy during peak hours.

Room Conditions

The room is actually fairly new and well-maintained.  The interior does not feel ‘old’ or ‘worn-out’.  The layout of the room is nice, in a sense that everything seems to be in the right place.  For the small studio, it is perfect for a single occupancy.  Fridge/freezer has more than enough space to hold one-week worth of food (assuming one goes grocery-shopping on a weekly basis).  The heater is functioning well, but it might get a little cold during cold weather, but this should not be a problem if you have a warm duvet.

En-suite bathroom

The area for shower itself is fairly small and may feel a little tight for tall people, as it is a triangular shaped area in one corner.  Other than that, I have no complaints about it.

Facilities

Laundry is close to reception.  So, depending on which block you are at, it may feel close or far.  The on-site convenience store is perfect, as you could just go there for the things that you forget to pick up at the supermarket.

Overall

What I like: close proximity to University Park Campus; if you ever need the bus to city centre, the bus stop is right in front of the gate

What I don’t like: reception does not accept parcels for you, which means you have to meet the courier directly and most of the time they just come unannounced

Would you recommend it to others? Yes
